Hiking in Douro Valley

This walk begins in Pinhão train station and allows us to go at the hilltop of Casal de Loivos, a small village close to Pinhão. It’s a short walk but it shows perfectly the magnificent Douro valley: villages, valleys, vineyards and olive trees.

Douro Valley

This experience is a walk through the vineyards, olive groves and almond trees of the Douro. It is a hike of 9 km, moderate level, uphill and downhill in different paths. We will use the traditional paths once used by locals to travel to work in the fields. 

During the walk, we will talk about the local culture and ways of life and we will end the walking tour with a typical picnic with homemade and local products and wine from the region, produced by a small wine producer. The picnic also includes tastings of olive oil and generous wine.
